OFFICIAL RULES
Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of Ulead, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this contest.
Who is Eligible?
This contest is open to VideoStudio 8 users who have access to the Neptune Video Sharing Service. Neptune Video Sharing Service can be purchased from within VideoStudio 8. Alternatively users of the VideoStudio 8 retail or trial versions can sign up for a free 7 day trial of the Neptune service in order to upload entries.
What do I need to do?
Use VideoStudio 8 to create your Summertime video of no more than 3 minutes in length and submit it to the contest after May 17 by using the “Share Video Online” button in the Share step of your VideoStudio 8 program.

- Use VideoStudio 8 to create your Summertime video of no more than 3 minutes in length and submit it to the contest Gallery after May 17 by using the “Share Video Online” button in the Share step of your VideoStudio 8 program.
- Sign up for Neptune.com Mediashare Pro membership. Mediashare Trial members cannot submit to the contest or Gallery.
- Once you have uploaded your video you are ready to submit your album to the contest. Note: Online video albums are not automatically submitted to the Gallery. You must go to the Gallery to submit your album.
- To submit your video album to the contest, "Sign In" to your Neptune site. Click Gallery in the top menu, then click Submit Album in the lower right-hand corner.
- Follow the 4 - step submission process, and you are done!! Not all submissions will be posted to the Gallery. All videos must meet Neptune 's Terms of Use Agreement.
- In Step 2 in the contest submission screen... if you do not like the automatic thumbnail for your video album, you can always create a better JPEG to represent your video and upload that JPEG to your Mediashare Photo Library using Easy Upload feature. If you choose this option, select "Photo Library" in Step 2.
Note:
- Submitting your video album to the Ulead Gallery and submitting to the Summertime Video Contest are the same thing. You do not have to submit your album in two places.
- Once you submit your video album to the Gallery and Contest, your video will be available for viewing by anyone who comes to the Gallery. Your other Mediashare albums, videos, and photos can still be private using custom security settings in the SECURITY feature.

How do I win?
The winners will be picked by a panel of Ulead and Neptune judges. It will be evaluated on content, editing skill and creativity. You can submit as many entries as you wish, however you are only eligible to win one prize in the contest.
By Contestant submitting his or her Video work, he/she agrees to release and hold Ulead harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Competition, including Uleads' use of the Video work, or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage, and claims based upon publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
Ulead will arrange for delivery of all prizes. The winners may be required to submit a signed affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release, and confirmation that they have followed the rules of the contest. The affidavit must be signed and returned within 15 days of attempted notification. In the event of non-compliance within this period, an alternate winner will be selected. Any prize notification or prize returned to the sponsor as undeliverable will result in the awarding of that prize to an alternate winner. Except where prohibited by law, the winner consents to the use of their name and entry in any manner by Ulead and its advertising and promotion agencies without further compensation. Ulead makes no warranties and accepts no obligations with respect to any aspect of the prizes and the winner shall look solely to the entities providing the goods or services in connection with the prize for any claims. Neither Ulead nor its affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, or related companies are responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that the winners might incur as a result of this contest or receipt of prizes. Winners accepting prizes agree that all prizes are awarded on the condition that Ulead Systems and its agents, representatives, affiliates and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of the prizes. Winner further acknowledges that Ulead is not responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness. Winner may make no substitutions or transfer of prize. Ulead reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
Internet - Entries made by Internet will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Authorized account holder is deemed as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If the potentially winning entry is an Internet or other computer entry, potential winner may be requested to provide Ulead with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the potentially winning entry. If for any reason the online portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Ulead which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, Ulead reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. Ulead assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Ulead is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Ulead on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
