Who is eligible?

Competition is open to all photographers and digital imaging enthusiasts world-wide except where prohibited by law. Employees and employee family members of Ulead Systems are not eligible. If artist is under 18 years of age, artist's parent or legal guardian must provide consent.

What do you need to do?

To enter, create an original image using at least one filter, effect in PhotoImpact 8. The entry must be no larger than 500 x 500 pixels in size and be submitted as a GIF or JPEG file. If you do not have PhotoImpact 8, you can download the trial here.Winners may be asked to submit a UFO (PhotoImpact format) file for verification.

How Do I Enter?

Once you have finished your artwork, just go to the contest entry pages, fill out the form and upload your entry. Entries must be received by 11:59PM PST on December 15, 2002.

How Many Times Can I enter?

You can enter both showdowns as many times as you want, however, you can only win once overall.

To enter, go to http://activity.ulead.com/contest/us/pi8/ and fill out the form completely including the following information: name, Internet or other e-mail address and upload your file. You may enter as many times as you like. Entries for Grand Prize drawing must be received by 11:59PM PST on 12/15/2002.

No purchase or payment necessary to enter. Entrants must use at least one filter or effect from PhotoImpact 8. PhotoImpact 8 Trial version is available for download at http://www.ulead.com/pi/trial.htm.

The PhotoImpact 8 Digital Imaging Contest begins October 18, 2002 and ends December 15, 2002. Judging for Grand Prize will be held between 12/16/2002 - 1/03/2003. Winners will be notified by e-mail.

The contest is open to all except employees and their immediate families of Ulead Systems, Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, and its advertising and promotion agencies, and contest sponsors and their employees, or immediate families. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

All entries must be PG-rated or cleaner. Ulead reserves the right to disqualify or remove any entry deemed inappropriate.

If you are a minor within your jurisdiction, you will need to supply verifiable parental or guardian information and permission to enter the competition.
Ulead will require proper identification prior to distributing prizes. Please be prepared to supply a fax, mail, or digital image of your identification documents.

By participating in this contest, each Contestant warrants that he or she exclusively owns the copyright of the work entered. Each entry must be solely developed by and be the original work of the entrant and must not be developed or created in association or connection with the entrant's position as an employee for any entity. Entrant must have all rights to the entry and such entry may not be subject to the rights of any third party.

You retain all rights to your entry. By entering this contest the contestant grants Ulead the right to allow the entry to be displayed or used in Ulead promotional materials.

Multiple entries from one artist are not eligible to win multiple prizes. Winners may be asked to provide a UFO (PhotoImpact file format) file of their entry for verification.

Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of Ulead Systems, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this contest.

By Contestant submitting his or her Artwork, he/she agrees to release and hold Ulead harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the Competition, including Uleads' use of the Artwork, or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage, and claims based upon publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.

Ulead will arrange for delivery of all prizes. The winners will be required to submit a signed affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release, and confirmation that they have followed the rules of the contest. The affidavit must be signed and returned within 15 days of attempted notification. In the event of non-compliance within this period, an alternate winner will be selected. Any prize notification or prize returned to the sponsor as undeliverable will result in the awarding of that prize to an alternate winner. Except where prohibited by law, the winner consents to the use of their name and entry in any manner by Ulead and its advertising and promotion agencies without further compensation. Ulead makes no warranties and accepts no obligations with respect to any aspect of the prizes and the winner shall look solely to the entities providing the goods or services in connection with the prize for any claims. Neither Ulead nor its affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, or related companies are responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that the winners might incur as a result of this contest or receipt of prizes. Winners accepting prizes agree that all prizes are awarded on the condition that Ulead Systems and its agents, representatives, affiliates and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of the prizes. Winner further acknowledges that Ulead is not responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness. Winner may make no substitutions or transfer of prize. Ulead reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

Internet - Entries made by Internet will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Authorized account holder is deemed as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If the potentially winning entry is an Internet or other computer entry, potential winner may be requested to provide Ulead with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the potentially winning entry. If for any reason the online portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Ulead which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, Ulead reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. Ulead assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Ulead is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Ulead on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this contest.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
